ATLANTA -- West Virginia University senior center Kevin Pittsnogle was named Big East player of the week for his career-high 34-point performance in last Friday's victory over Canisius, the league announced Monday. Pittsnogle shot 12 of 20 from the field, was 4 of 5 from 3-point distance and was 6 of 6 from the free throw line. The Martinsburg native also grabbed seven rebounds. Pittsnogle secured the conference award last week, earning co-player of the week honors along with Connecticut's Rashad Anderson. West Virginia (8-3) takes on South Florida Thursday night in Tampa. |
