Mitch Vingle: Don’t dawdle on '06 WVU tickets

WVU’s football program is hot. And tickets to next season’s games are expected to be likewise.

No vacation in Florida
TAMPA, Fla. — When nothing else worked right for West Virginia — and on this night, virtually nothing else did — the Mountaineers’ defense saved them. After playing lethargically much of the night, West Virginia made two big defensive stands in the final minute Thursday night and outlasted South Florida, 57-53, in a ragged Big East opener for both teams.

WVU finishes No. 5


Irish dump Valley, 82-48
Charleston Catholic left Valley breathless Thursday night. The Fighting Irish ran the Greyhounds into the court in posting an 82-48 victory in a battle of undeafeated Class A squads. A crowd of about 500 attended at the Charleston Catholic Sports Complex on Hillcrest Drive.
