No. 14 NC State (14-2) at No. 1 Duke (16-0) 7:00 pm ESTDURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Duke is 16-0 for the third time in school history and looks to equal its best start in program history when Atlantic Coast conference rival No. 14 NC State visits Cameron Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.The last Duke team to start the season 16-0 was the 1992 squad that won its first 17 games on its way to a second consecutive national championship. In 1986 the Blue Devils also started the season 16-0 and finished with a trip to the Final Four.Duke (16-0, 4-0 ACC) is coming off an 87-77 victory at Clemson on Saturday. As they have all season, seniors J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams led the Blue Devils against the Tigers as Redick poured in 34 points and Williams recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.Redick leads the ACC in scoring at 26.4 points per game and has cracked the 30-point mark six times this season. The senior guard has made more 3-pointers (59) than the Blue Devils have allowed (58).Williams has 344 career blocks and needs two to overtake Mike Gminski as the school's all-time leader. The senior forward is averaging 9.4 rebounds and is shooting 61 percent from the floor.The Wolfpack (14-2, 3-1) are 2-5 against the nation's No. 1 team under coach Herb Sendek, but their last win was a 78-74 victory over Duke on February 15, 2004.NC State has won two straight and nine of its last 10. The Wolfpack are coming off an 87-78 victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday.While Duke is led by Redick and Williams, NC State has been getting it done with a balanced attack. Guard Engin Atsur, swingman Cameron Bennerman, forward Ilian Evtimov and center Cedric Simmons all are averaging double-figures.Bennerman paced six players in double figures in the triumph against the Yellow Jackets.
