He shares the honor with Rice's Josh Rodriguez, whose clutch-hitting led to two victories over No. 7 Cal State Fullerton. Pitching honors went to Houston's Brad Lincoln, who shut down No.8 LSU in Baton Rouge.

March 5 Weekend Baseball Roundup
Marshall exploded for 50 runs, including 20 in one game, over a four-game series against Buffalo over the weekend. Behind a strong performance at the plate, the Thundering Herd took three-of-four games in Huntington.

Feb. 27 Baseball Notebook
Following a 4-0 week that included a victory over No. 3 Nebraska, Rice has moved into the top spot in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) poll. It is the second straight season that Conference USA has produced the No.1-ranked team in college baseball. Tulane spent 17 weeks ranked as the top team in college baseball last season. The Owls are the first Conference USA team to be ranked No. 1 in any sport since the league realigned on July 1, 2005.
