High School Scores From Week 9 Bring Few Surprises

The top ranked team in Class A, Williamstown, ran its regular season undefeated streak to 44 straight Friday with a 21-0 victory over Magnolia. The 44-game run equals the state record, which was originally set by Winfield from 1968-72.

Willamstown’s win streak was the biggest news coming out of Friday’s action, as there were few upsets. The top five seeds in all three classes emerged victorious. With week nine now in the books, and just two more weeks left in the regular season, the playoff picture is starting to take shape. Sixteen teams in each class will move on to playoff action starting Nov. 11th, and bubble teams will be fighting for their playoff lives the next couple of weeks, while those higher ranked will be battling for seedings and home field advantage.
