Friday's Games

Pocahontas County 26, Mount Hope 23

MOUNT HOPE — Jesse Burdette broke off a 67-yard run with two minutes left to give Pocahontas County a 26-23 win over homestanding Mount Hope.

Burdette finished with 165 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Warriors, who had 455 total yards.

Mount Hope’s Jamel Shelton ran for 81 yards and two touchdowns.



James Monroe 16, Point Pleasant 14

LINDSIDE — James Monroe did all its scoring in the first half to improve to 8-0 on the season.

Andrew Robertson and Jason Jackson sandwiched short touchdown runs around a 25-yard Dalton Pritt field goal.

Robertson finished with 134 yards on the ground while Jackson added 71.

Heath Mullins had 53 yards for the Mavericks, who amassed 258 yards of total offense, all of it on the ground.



Meadow Bridge 44, Gilmer County 28

MEADOW BRIDGE — James Mullins rushed for 231 yards and three touchdowns as Meadow Bridge rolled to victory.

John Tolley also caught a 61-yard scoring pass from Wes wyandt and returned an interception 79 yards for a touchdown.



Westside 52, Summers County 27

CLEAR FORK — Justin Sizemore scored two touchdowns and an interception in 25 seconds to turn the tide in the Renegades’ win Friday night.

Sizemore finished with 140 yards rushing and three scores and also had a pair of conversion runs.

Westside scored 40 points in the second quarter, which started with Sizemore’s uprising.



Webster County 46, Braxton County 0

UPPER GLADE — Matt Smalley ran for 118 yards and three touchdowns to lead Webster County past Braxton County.

Teammate Paul Perrine rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns.

The Highlanders (4-5) play at Clay County next Friday.
