PROVIDENCE, R.I. - West Virginia quarterback Pat White, Rutgers defensive tackle Ramel Meekins and Connecticut cornerback Darius Butler received BIG EAST Conference weekly football honors on Monday. White was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Meekins earned Defensive Player of the Week honors and Butler received Special Teams Player of the Week accolades.

In West Virginia's 45-13 win over Pittsburgh on Thanksgiving night, Pat White set a new BIG EAST record for yards rushing in a game by a quarterback (220), surpassing a mark held by Virginia Tech's Michael Vick (210 yards vs. BC, 9/30/00). White carried the ball 23 times for 220 yards (9.6 avg.) and two touchdowns. He also passed for 41 yards and a touchdown. White, who has started only three games, has 698 rushing yards on the season, placing him third on the all-time BIG EAST list for yards rushing in a season by a quarterback.

Rutgers defensive tackle Ramel Meekins was a force defensively in the Scarlet Knights' 44-9 victory over Cincinnati on Nov. 26. Meekins registered 10 tackles, including 4.0 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks against the Bearcats. The 3.5 sacks are the second most by a BIG EAST player this season. Meekins and the RU defense held UC to 146 total yards, including -23 yards rushing.

In Connecticut's 15-10 win over USF on Nov. 26, cornerback Darius Butler returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown to help seal the UConn victory. Butler finished the game with four kickoff returns for 148 yards. Defensively, he had an interception, a tackle and a pass break-up.
