Evans' 21 points lead Tolsia, 65-50

BECKLEY, W.Va. -- B.J. Evans had game highs of 21 points and 13 rebounds for the Tolsia Rebels (3-0) in a 65-50 victory against Independence (3-1) in the Groovy 94.1/Pepsi Christmas Challenge at Appalachian bible College on Thursday. The Rebels play Greater Beckley Christian at
8 p.m. today for the tournament championship.

Kenny Muncy chipped in 17 points and nine rebounds for the Rebels. Adam Muncy had 14 points and Aaron Fletcher had a team-high five assists.

Independence was led in scoring by Jimmy Barton with 15.

BOB JONES (Ala.) 94, BOYD CO. 91: Antonio Owens poured in 53 points for Boyd County (6-2), but it wasn't enough to take down Bob Jones (Ala.) in the championship game of the Townsquare Bank Classic at Boyd County High School.

Keegan Bell fired in 32 points, including eight threes, to lead Bob Jones (5-8).

HUNTINGTON 64, PARKERSBURG 52: Huntington High
(3-1) got back in the win column Tuesday night by getting a win at Parkersburg (3-4).

The Highlanders got double-doubles from LaQuita Wilburn with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Taylor Wheeler with 25 points and 10 boards. Nicole Madison chipped in 10 points. Huntington will return to action Tuesday versus University at the Parkersburg South Holiday Tournament.

Alyssa Rhodes paced the Big Reds with 20 points.

SPRING VALLEY 52, TOLSIA 48: The Timberwolves capped an unbeaten week with a victory over their county rivals. Spring Valley (4-3) upset sectional rival Huntington High, ranked No. 2 by The Associated Press, on Tuesday.

Jerica Morrison and Megan Adkins led the Timberwolves with 11 points apiece. Jessica Bailey added 10 points.

Tolsia's Becky Robinson led all scorers with 19. Toni Farley chipped in 15 points for the Lady Rebels (4-3).
