Winfield Generals Win Second Title in Three Years

Winfield finished a wire-to-wire run as the state's top-ranked AA team with a 59-42 victory over Summers County in the State Championship game.
Senior center Bridgette Harper had her third double/double of the tournament with 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the way. Sophomore point guard Katie Cloxton added 13 points and seven assists. Seniors Bre Kyle and Natalie Kline were in double figures as well with 12 points each. Winfield finishes at 25-2.
Summers County was led by senior Sierra Brown, who scored 15 points in her final high school game. Summers County finished its season at 24-4, with three of the losses coming to Winfield.
