Final Eight set
for Postseason WNIT

Thursday, March 22, 2007 – Auburn, Kansas State, South Dakota State, Virginia, Western Kentucky, Wisconsin and Wyoming won their games Thursday night in the Postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament and will advance to the round of eight.

Hofstra, which won Wednesday night, will travel to Western Kentucky in a 2 p.m. game Sunday for its first quarterfinal postseason game in school history. In other action, Virginia travels to Wisconsin for a game at 1:30 p.m. Sunday; Auburn heads to Kansas State to play at 2 p.m. Sunday; and Wyoming will host South Dakota State at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Semifinals will be Wednesday. The championship is set for 3 p.m. ET Saturday, March 31. The championship will be televised, and details will be posted soon.

For the first time in history, each of the nation’s 31 conferences are represented in the WNIT. The tournament expanded to 48 teams this year to accommodate an automatic berth for each of the conferences.

All games throughout the tournament are held on the campuses of participating schools.
